The mission of the Maine Voice Center is to provide excellence in the evaluation and treatment of voice disorders, using a multi-disciplinary team approach. Our team includes laryngologists and speech-language pathologists. Each member offers a unique perspective and understanding of the vocal mechanism. Videostroboscopy - Videotaped assessment of vocal fold motion with flexible and rigid endoscopy for management of benign and malignant vocal
fold lesions, sulcus vocalis and vocal cord paresis

Laryngeal Function Studies - Acoustic analysis of vocal function and range with aerodynamic assessment of air flow and air pressure for management of glottal incompetence, vocal fold lesions, pre-operative and post-operative comparisons

Trans-nasal Esophagoscopy - Fiberoptic assessment of esophagus to detect esophagitis, Barrett's esophagus, strictures, and diverticulum

Vocal Performance Assessment - Acoustic, aerodynamic, and videostroboscopic evaluation for evaluation of the professional voice

Voice Therapy - Vocal health, vocal rehabilitation, nasality, muscle tension dysphonia, spasmodic dysphonia, vocal paresis, age related voice changes

Botox Injections - Spasmodic dysphonia and tremor

Laryngeal Surgery -Microflap excision of polyps, cysts, Reinke's edema; medialization laryngoplasty (thyroplasty and arytenoid adduction); vocal fold injection augmentation; endoscopic and open removal of laryngeal carcinoma with reconstruction.
